5th On Line, Curricullum Writting Application (Part 1)

Hi Class,

I am confident that by now, you are ready to begin writing your own lesson plan. Please do the following:

1. Write the school's vision, mission, and objectives. (Real or Fiction)

2. Develop a 30 minute lesson plan.

a. Choose a subject matter to discuss and the corresponding grade or year level(e.g. English, First Year High School).

b. Write 9 Objectives that include 3 Cognitive, 3 Affective, and 3 Psycho-motor.

c. Develop the content or the subject matter.

d. Write at least three teaching methods or strategies.

e. Describe at least two ways to evaluate if the students learn the lesson.

    2) Lesson Plan


    I. Introduction:

    The preceding lesson is about self-discovery. As the students read the selection”, they will learn about other young people who discover that they are special. The selection is entitled, “ Me-First Millie”.

    II. Grade Intended: Fifth Grade ENGLISH

    III. Length of Lesson: 30-40 minute lesson

    IV. Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
    1.Understand basic vocabulary: pencils, teacher, nurse, brave, shocked, warned, rushed, faucet.
    2.Recognize directionality of English reading.
    3.Share prior knowledge
    4.Recognize, distinguish, and produce phonological elements in new vocabulary
    5.Read aloud to reflect understanding and engage listeners.
    6.Use basic capitalization correctly.
    7.Summarize and paraphrase text.
    8.Write legibly.
    9.Use multiple reference aids to clarify meanings and usage.
    10.Give personal information.
    11.Acquire an appreciation on good behavior
    12.Demonstrate knowledge of parts of speech.

    V. Materials:

    1.Picture Cards of classroom, desk, paper, pencil, school, teacher
    2.Big Book
    3.Routine Cards
    4.Practice Book

    VI. Procedure

    1.Echo-Read a Poem. Display Picture Cards and name each picture. Have students repeat after you. Then display Big Book (p.3). Have individuals demonstrate their understanding of directionality by tracking the Big Book text
    with a finger as the class echo reads.

    2. Access Prior to Knowledge. Begin a word web on the board. Write polite in the
    center. Explain the meaning of the word, and model adding information about it
    to the web. To help foster respect for others, have students share their prior knowledge about being polite, including examples of polite behavior.

    3. Use Vocabulary. Read aloud the vocabulary and provide a brief definition for each word. Point to each vocabulary word in the poem. Use picture cards and pantomime to clarify the meanings of the words. If students have difficulty for example the word rushed, tell them to close their eyes and imagine that they are moving very quickly to get somewhere. Then ask students questions that require them to use a vocabulary word in the answer. LANGUAGE-

    4. Review Greetings and Farewells. Invite students to say greetings and farewells:

    Hello. How are you today? Goodbye. Have a good trip.

    5. Ask students to begin a Concept Wall with scenes and words that depict polite behavior.

    6. Journal. Have students add the vocabulary to their journals. Encourage them to include simple sketches that demonstrates understanding.

    VII. Evaluation:
    1.Good Friends Report. Have students work in groups to discuss the qualities of a good friend. Then have each group report to the class what they think are the qualities of a good friend. Tell students to use the vocabulary in their reports.
